Fix Payment Error

I accidentally made a payment to the wrong liability (debt) account, or for the wrong amount. What should I do?

At this time, you're unable to edit the payment. However, you may be able to cancel the payment! First, verify the payment status in the 'Account Details' page of that account.

Pending Status

Great news! If it's in 'pending' status, you cancel the payment.

  • Navigate to the 'Account Details' page of that liability (debt) account

  • Click the 'Cancel Pending Payment' button to begin the cancellation process

  • Select the payment you wish to cancel and click 'Cancel Payment'

Processing or Complete Status

If the payment reflects a 'processing' or 'completed' status, you will not be able to cancel payment through Stretch Financial Wellness® and must contact the financial institution who holds that liability (debt) to resolve any issues.

We know peace of mind is important! To confirm a successful cancellation, we'll send an email and text to the address and phone number opted in to receive notifications. You will also be notified within the Stretch Financial Wellness® application.

Note: The 'Cancel Pending Payment' button will only appear and/or be functional if the payment is in a 'pending' status and able to be canceled

Your payment will not be canceled until you select the payment you desire to cancel and click the 'Cancel Payment' button to submit the cancellation.
